Wyatt isn’t actually stocky, standing in at six feet tall and being slightly on the skinny side, but something about him gives the impression that there’s some heft to him. Maybe it’s the roundness of his face or an illusion created by his penchant of layering shirts over shirts or the fact that his arms and chest are fairly muscular. Whatever it is, he’s been described as such on more than one occasion.
He’s not classically handsome by any stretch, his grey eyes slightly too close together, his lips almost too full. Bland, he calls his face, seeing absolutely nothing special about it. He has brown hair and a goatee that sometimes grows into a full blown beard.
He has one tattoo, an elaborate cross with two names inscribed, on the inside of his left forearm and several scars scattered on both his arms and legs.

Wyatt is the polar opposite of his sister. Where she’s vivacious and outgoing, bright and sunny, he’s quiet and brooding and all these years later there’s still an air of something around him that hints at a loss or tragedy in his past, though he never speaks of it. He takes most everything too seriously and has a hard time finding the humor in things. That’s not to say he doesn’t have a sense of humor at all, he does, but it’s dry and easy to miss.

It was luck, really, that brought Dani into Wyatt’s life, though he regularly tells her that it was the second worst day of his life. What he never tells her is that she most likely saved him. It would only go to her head.
Born in Florida, Wyatt had had a fairly normal life until about a year before they’d met. He’d been born into a working class family and while they’d not had much, he and his sister had never wanted for anything important. There wasn’t always enough money, but they all had a strong work ethic and somehow made ends meet.
He did well enough in school, but never had any desire to go past high school, preferring to learn a trade or something. Which all wound up working out as his high school sweetheart got pregnant the night of graduation. Greta was born just after his nineteenth birthday and was the love of his life, something that Ali didn’t begrudge him saying since he’d married her and all. They were young and struggling, but they were a family and as far as Wyatt was concerned, all was well with the world.
Like so many other hunters, however, the happiness came to a bloody end, stealing wife and daughter from him, leaving him alone at the ripe age of twenty one. Dealing with the loss and the sudden knowledge that monsters were real, he charged head on into learning what he could and hunting down the thing responsible for killing Ali and Greta. The problem was that while he was learning a lot, he really was not all that good at it. And it was possible he had a death wish.
It was during that time that he met Dani, who was guarding a spirit. Not that he knew that, of course, all he knew was that a giant black dog was trying to eat him (or so it seemed) and that when the spirit was gone there was suddenly a girl there who couldn’t have been more than sixteen giving him a very large and angry piece of her mind.
Maybe it was that he was still reeling from the loss, maybe it was because he just couldn’t believe the little blonde thing could be a monster, not really, maybe it was the comedy of errors that came with her, but Wyatt wound up taking her in (or maybe she took him in, it was sort of a blur) and, once he learned that she was tied to the area and was able, buying a chunk of land.
Seven years later and they’ve both become expert horse handlers, raising and selling them from the Ranch, which has become a way station and research spot for working hunters.
