World at Large is a brand new Marvel/Avengers website with it's own original PLOT! The emphasis is on quality writing and characterization, but we believe in having a good time. We accept freeform and traditional applications. In terms of post requirement, we do have a word count in place. Canons from all Marvel media are accepted, and we do permit OCs. You won't find condescending hipsters telling you your character is wrong because he or she isn't directly translated from the comics! The site is very flexible and permissible, because after all, it's Marvel. Anything could happen!
The plot itself is something straight out of a comic. Washington, DC has been overtaken by ARES, a mysterious group of supersoldiers created by the American government. Their original purpose was to keep the newly formed Avengers in place, but unfortunately the superhumans seemed to have their own ideas. Cities have fallen, but the Avengers and other heroes must be willing to work together against ARES, not to mention the usual barrage of Villains who are still causing mischief while the world ends. Heroes, villains, and civilians live in the uncertainty of a burgeoning world at war. Something's got to give. Will it be you?
